Tackle Loaner Program - Our tackle loaner program
puts rods, reels, and bait in the hands of kids who would
not otherwise have to the opportunity to fish. We have a
station at the Edgerton City Library and rods and reels
can be checked out like a book. We also have a mobile
station and bring it directly to you. Our next event is:

Casting Contests
Casting Contest - We host various casting contests
throughout the year. The free contests let kids cast for
prizes and medals. We usually have the contest during
city summer festivals and even at some of our sponsors
parking lots. Our next event is:

Fishing Clinics - We host various fishing clinics
throughout the year. The free clinics teach basic and
advanced fishing techniques to all those who want to
learn. Some of our clinics are day and sometimes two.
We adapt each clinic and classes as needed for age

Fishing Tournaments- We host a yearly tournament for
adults and/or youth and occasionally hold other benefit
tournaments. Mostly consisting of fellow Sheriff
Deputies and Police Officers we open them up to all,
even Firefighters. Our next event is:

Benefits
Benefits and caring for others- We try to host as many
events as we can for other benefits. Sick or injured
Officer, Firefighters, Children, and any others which
could use our help. Our current focus:

Rob Sturm - Rob was a fellow Sheriff's
Deputy who fell ill to cancer. Rob and his
family fought for two years. Rob will be sadly
missed. We remember the smiles he gave
us and all the times on the water.

C.A.S.T. We love to lend a hand for other
kids events, and this one was right up our
alley. C.A.S.T. "Catch a Special Thrill" is an
event to help disabled and disadvantaged
children participate in fishing and outdoor
fun. It puts them in boats with more
advanced fisherman for a fun filled day. The
Kansas Highway Patrol coordinates this
area program and it is held on Eldorado
Lake in Kansas. This year close to 50 kids
enjoyed a great day. They were given rods,
reels, tackle, shirts, hats, and then spent a
few hours on the water in a boat with an
advanced angler. Some caught fish and
other did not, but smiles were everywhere
just from the boat ride. They were awarded
a plaque and certificate presented by the
boater. I'm really not sure who has the most
fun, them or the anglers and volunteers.

September 5th, 2009 - Desoto Casting Contest. Held during the Desoto Days Celebration in Desoto Kansas. This free
event will challenge youth to cast for prizes and fun. Beginning at 11am in the City Park. Other activities for adults and
